innovation Research and Training (iRT), a Durham-based company dedicated to research, assessment and training; creating products and educational programs and services that better society, with a focus on enhancing the mental health and quality of life of children, adolescents, families, communities and organizations. Here is a student curriculum; cover design, and a few sample pages (the entire binder was approximately 150 pages) as well as bookmark incentives that were used as hand-outs for the students upon completion of the project. This particular project was geared towards media literacy, teaching middle school aged children about advertising.

This was part of another media literacy project for innovation Research and Training (iRT), this time focusing on teaching elementary school aged students about advertising. Rather than a student book or binder, this one used a 17" x 22" poster flip chart with large illustrations for the students to view on the fronts, and a lesson plan for the teachers to see on the back with corresponding thumbnail images. This is one front and back example of the types of illustrations and lesson plan layouts used in this curriculum.

These bookmarks were used as a student incentive, handed out upon completion by elementary school students of the media literacy program as seen above. These bookmarks feature questions on the front (things they learned throughout the program), and a picture hunt illustrated "game" on the back.

These are a few sample screens designed for an interactive media assessment for elementary school aged boys. Students would watch a video, then answer a series of questions based on the video and their reactions to it. We created the background designs and illustrations featured throughout, totaling about 18 or 19 different lessons.

These are a few sample page spreads from a book / student journal created with Envision, for the JrNYLC program. The design and layout of the book totals 153 pages. The program is a scholar's program, in which students visit Washington D.C. and take a number of field trips to historical places in the DC and PA areas. This journal offers contact information, rules, information used throughout the program on such areas, as well as student worksheets.
