Welcome to kimmarie.net, personal portfolio of Kim Marie Gosnell.

I'm Kim, a professional designer and illustrator (with a sense of humor, of course) located in the Raleigh, NC area. My specialties include graphic design and layout (print design) and cartoon and technical illustration, though I've done a little bit of it all at one time or another… everything from stuffing posters into mailing tubes, to writing ad copy, to designing for the most tedious of print specifications to actually quoting and buying the print work itself. I've designed websites, done video production and some 2-D animation. However, my expertise area is definitely in print design and illustration.

How did I get here you ask? I began in this field as a marketing peon while working on my BA in multimedia/web design, and worked my way up to corporate in-house Creative Developer. After that I worked for a small design studio doing mostly print design and video production. Then I became a small business owner doing graphic design and illustration. I've enjoyed the experience of working for myself but find myself having less time to create and spending more time trying to run the actual business. While this has given me a more well-rounded perspective on how it all really works, I find myself missing the basics; having FUN with my job and working with a team. There is something to be said for that.
